As reported by Hot Rod Magazine, the car that's currently in the lead is the '57 Chevy of Jeff Lutz of Fort Pitt Racing. He ran a 7.64 today to back up his 7.63 from yesterday. Remember this car is certified to 6.00 and only has about 10 passes on it since going together. Lutz is playing it safe and working out the bugs. He wants to thank all the guys at Fort Pitt Racing, Ayres Engines in Muncie, and Precision Turbos for all their support in getting this car done in time for Drag Week '09.

Plenty of media coverage after Driver Lutz drove the 57 Chevy to the fastest (7.64) run of the day.

The Team Lutz Unlimited '57 Chevy is Billy F-ing bad ass in black suede. This car is purely sinister in comparison and show car looks.

Yes. It does rule as it does to stand this close as it does a burnout.

7.64 seconds is only .01 off of yesterday's 7.63 and keeps Jeff's '57 in the lead after day two for the overall Drag Week 2009 title.
